What is MixSys?

MixSys is a desk-height powder blending/mixing system that utilizes a Fristam FZX vacuum pump and an FS shear blender to quickly and completely incorporate wet and dry ingredients into a liquid stream.

MixSys can accomplish all the same duties as a high shear tank, but with a significantly reduced floor space requirement and a much safer operation height.

What are MixSys’ benefits?

When compared to traditional blend or mix tanks, MixSys’ innovative design differentiates itself in three major categories: safety, footprint, and foam-control.

Safety – MixSys is the height of a standard office desk, which means that loading operations are completed at standing height. With operators’ feet safely planted on the floor, MixSys drastically reduces the risk of operator accident or injury when compared to traditional tank-based systems.

Traditional blend or mix systems typically require operators to load ingredients at platform height near the top of tanks. Ingredients are either carried up the platform or placed on a lift to accomplish the task, each with their own inherent safety risks.

Footprint – MixSys is a self-contained system that simply requires a single blend tank allowing facilities to reclaim large amounts of floor space.

Traditional systems are comprised of the main process tank, any surrounding platforms, and any stairs, ladders, or lifts to reach loading height. This design is space-hungry and costly due to the custom fabrication and designs required.

Foam-Control – MixSys completes all dissolving, blending, or mixing within a closed environment inside the pump head. With agitation always under the liquid level, MixSys reduces the infiltration of oxygen. Therefore, MixSys also significantly reduces the production of foam when compared to traditional atmospheric tanks that are not sealed-off from oxygen.
